Health & Wellness Initiatives for Southside & Jurisdiction
"As Commissioner of Health Education for the Florida Central Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction (FCSEJ), my duties entail oversight of the following areas: building healthier communities, raising awareness about programs to reverse or slow progression of disease, educate on programs that are "low to no cost" and available now to the public, and to create partnerships with corporate health entities and the community."
1. Healthy Sundays
- This monthly Initiative kicked-off in January 2014 at our Jurisdictional Headquarters, Southside Church Of God In Christ - 2179 Emerson St. - Jacksonville, FL 32207, as well as numerous churches throughout the jurisdiction.
2. Thinning is Winning
- A 120 day Initiative to help members understand the impact of weight loss and/or gain on life limiting conditions such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Arthritis, and Cancer.
3. Walk a Mile in my Shoes
- A 120 day Initiative to help inspire seniors to enjoy exercise walking.
